Open Space is a simple methodology for self-organizing conferences. Participants come together as a group and brainstorm subjects that will turn into sessions for the conference.
It relies on participation by people who have a passion for the topics to be discussed. There is no rigid agenda, only time slots, and appropriate spaces to work in.
